There is a great deal more business before, the committees than there is be fore the legislature, and they attract a great dee more attention, the legisla tive proceedings having been up to date excessively dull. The proportion of small bills continues to- be very large. The big lobby which is ; trying to "save the face" of the distillery towns of Advance, Shore and Williams is here and hard at work, after most of it members had a rest of a day or two. A great deal Of feeling has been arous ed by these cases And by the announce ment that some members of the legists lature were determined tc eave the town of Williams at all hazard.
