Jackson of Cbllins ville gave the News a pleasant call Monday morning. Miss Ernestine Cain and Miss Envly Carnegie, of Tryon, visit ed Mrs. Carnegie Monday even ing. Mrs Dees, of Florida, who has been spending sometime at the Columbus Hotel, returned to her home Tuesday. A large crowd of young people enjoyed an old time square dance at the Weaver place, near Colum bus, last week . Mr .Trio WnnVft and family, of Rutherfordton, are visiting Mrs. Hodge's fatter, Mr. C. C Hamp ton, here this week. The Rev. Elbert Jackso will preach here next Saturday after noon at 3 o'clock and Sunday morning at 11 o'clock. Mrs. Van Winkle and daughter Miss Leo, Miss Lizzie Weaver and Miss Dora Andrews of Tryon were pleasant visitors here Tues day. 1 Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Boone of Mite Inn at Mill Spring, and Mrs. McEnery, Miss Eva, her daugh ter, and Miss Alma Sicard, guests of Mrs. Boone, were in Columbus Tuesday and made a long and pleasant visit to the News. Mr. Logan Cloud and wife went to Rutherfordton tiis week with their little boy. Forest, who had co undergo an operation for ton silitis. The operation was suc cessfully performed, and the family returned last night. This paper is anxious each week to issue a spicy and inter esting local page.
