?j Warren-Baughn United In Marriage 0 -Tami Lou Baughn of Route Utiewton Grove, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Baughn Jr.lof Warsaw, became the bride of Jeffrey Wayne War roir, son of Mrs. E. Frank Warren Sr. of Newton Grove and the late E. rank Warren Sr.jon Sunday, Feb. 14. Vows were spoken in the Saint Paul l^ec Will Baptist Church in Newton Grove at four ^(vcjock. The Reverend Felton Godwin of Newton Grove officiated. -Organist was Lisa fidyards of Clinton, and sbloist was Wendy Rivenbark of Warsaw. -The altar was graced with al fifteep-taper arch and spiral candelabras entwined with ivy and holding bur gundy tapers. The kneeling ^bencfa and unity candle con "pleted the decor. Each win dow held a burgundy taper witfi ivy and burgundy velvet bow. 1 Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory Victorian gown of silk in-ganza with high neck and long tapered sleeves of Not tingham lace and pearls, small lace ruffle around the bodice, with a ruffle of lace P cut the skirt extending into a cHapel train. A double wreath of silk flowers and pearls held her veil of chapel length illusion. She carried a bouquet of pink china silk roses with burgundy and viefvet streamers. ; Matron of honor was Lisa B.: Hatcher of Chinquapin, sister of the bride. Mrs. Hatcher wore an ivory Vic ^tOrian lace blouse with floor length burgundy velvet skirt and cummerbund of bur gimdy velvet edged in gold piping. She carried an open heart wreath covered in ivory satin entwined with silk ivy, pink and burgundy silk babies'-breath and Stardust with burgundy and ivory velvet streamers. ; bridesmaids were Robin _ Eastridge of Eden, cousin of Ptli$ bride; Faye G. Nordan of Gqldsboro, and Paula U. D^rden of Newton Grove. Their attire was identical to tliat of the honor attendant. ? Leigh Johnson of Newton Grove, cousin of the groom, was flower girl. She wore a burgundy velvet jumper with empire waistline trimmed in gold piping and an ivory crepe blouse. She carried a basket of ivy and silk roses in colors of ivory, pink and burgundy with bur gundy velvet sfreamers. Best man was Archie Brigman of Faison. Ushers were Michael Mallard of Charlotte, cousin of the groom; Stedman Stevens of Arlington, Va.; and Marvin Morris of Boone, cousin of the groom. The mother of the bride wore a lavender gown of qiana knit with blouson bodice overlay of chiffon with full sleeves and embroidered lace edging at the neck. Her corsage was of pink china silk roses with burgundy silk babies'-breath and burgundy velvet bow. Mrs. Percy Pharisof Eden, maternal grandmother of the bride, wore a pink street length dress and a corsage of burgundy silk roses with pink silk babies'-breath and bur gundy bow. The bride's pa ternal grandmother. Opal Baughn Gauldin of Eden, wore a pink full-length gown and a corsage of burgundy silk roses with pink silk babies'-breath and a bur gundy bow. The wedding was directed by Freddie W. Beasley of Benson. Reception A reception was held in the fellowship hall immediately following the ceremony. Silver serving pieces were used around a stiver can delabra with burgundy tapers and pink and bur gundy fresh flowers. The cake was served bv Mrs. Ted Bass. Lynn Thornton poured punch. Others serving were Mrs. Modelle Smith. Mrs. Billy Thornton and Mrs. Lloyd Allen Britt. Focal point was the all ivory wedding cake of square layers with four small heart-shaped cakes at each corner adorned with bells filled with bur gundy and pink babies' breath with ivory and bur gundy velvet streamers con necting the cakes. Korean beef, shrimp dip. cheese balls, chicken salad tarts, mints, nuts and heart-shaped finger sandwiches v. ere also served. After a wedding trip to Sugar Mountain, the newly weds are at home on Route 2, Newton Grove. Mrs. Warren attended North Carolina State Univer sity and is employed with United Carolina Bank in Newton Grove. Her husband also attended N.C. State and is employed with Eastern Oil Company. Courtesies Tami Baughn Warren was entertained at various social functions prior to her mar riage. These included a pantry shower given by Mrs. David Darden, Mrs. Ted Bass, Mrs. Edward Warren. Mrs. Jeff Darden. Mrs. Larry Britt and Sonja Hargove. The guests were entertained with games and refreshments. The bride-elect was show ered with gifts to fill her pantry. A floating tea and mis cellaneous shower was given in honor of the couple in the fellowship hall of Saint Paul Free Will Baptist Church. The hosts were Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd A. Britt, Mrs. John A. Warren Sr., Mrs. Charles Warren Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Billy Thornton, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Gregory. Nfr. and Mrs. Ray Warwick. Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Warren, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hudson. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Thornton, Mr. and Mrs. Bernice West brook, Margaret Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Herring. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Warren, Mr. and Mrs. Mac Giddens, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Thornton and Mr. and Mrs. Dewayne West. Musicians for the afternoon were Janine Britt and Luna McKoy. A bridesmaid's luncheon was given in honor of Miss Baughn by Mrs. Warren Johnson, Freddie Beasley and Leigh ju..nson at the Village Restaurant in New t in Grove. As the guests arrived, they were served hot apple cider. Following the meal, the bride-elect presented each of the bridesmaids with a crystal heart keepsake box. She received a silver nut dish. Following the wedding re hearsal, an informal buffet party for members of the wedding party, out-of-town gjcsts and friends was given in the home of Mrs. Frank Warren. Assisting her were Mrs. Archie Prigman, Mrs. Lawrence Gregory and Mrs. Russell Lee. ENGAGEMENT Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Sumner of Pink Hill announce the engagement of their daughter, Renita Ian. to Brian Sandlin Ravnor, son of Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Raynor of Beulaville. The wedding is planned for March b at Sandy Plain Free Will Baptist Church at six o'clock. Friends and relatives are invited to attend.
