Barwick-Williarr.s Vows Spoken In a candlelight ceremony on Sunday, April 25, at three o'clock in the afternoon, Margaret Clara Williams and Wyatt Hardy Barwick solem nized their wedding vows before the Rev. Jean Hood at the Pink Hill United Metho dist Church. The couple spoke their vows before an altar deco rated with spiral candela brum and complimented with baskets of spring flowers containing snapdragons, mums, fuei nomnons. car nations and gypsophila. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Sallie Williams of Route two, Pink Hill and the late J. Fred Williams. Pa rents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Herman Bar wick Sr. of Kinston. A program of nuptial music was presented by Edgar Wells, organist, and Jeff Smith and Mickey Brinklev. vocalists. Mr Smith sang "Evergreen" and "The Wedding Paryer." Both sang "Endless Love." The bride was escorted to the altar by her uncle, Hans C. "Johnny" Wagner of Knightdale, and given in marriage by her mother. She chose for her wedding a formal gown of silkened or ganza and Venise lace over peau de soie fashioned with a slightly raised waist en circled with lace and a modi fied Queen Anne neckline adorned with lace and pearls. The sheer bishop sleeves accented with motifs of lace closed with a lace-bordered cuff. The A-line skirt and cathedral train featuring scattered lace appliques were bordered with a bias flounce edged and joined to the skirt with a row of Venise lace. Her waltz-length veil ' silk illusion bordered with scalloped silk lace was attached to a lace-covered Juliet cap enhanced with pearls. The bride chose for her bouquet a petite cascade of silk spring flowers con sisting of deep pink roses, white daisies, carnations and gypsophila. Attending the bride as matron of honor was Mrs. Ginger Davis of Kinston. friend of the bride. Maid of honor was Miss Jerri Ald ridge of Pink Hill. Brides maids were Miss Kim Smith and Miss Cheryl Smith, both of Pink Hill, Miss Beth Wagner of Knightdale, cousin of the bride, and Miss Sandra Lanier of Holly Ridge. They wore frosted rose gowns of polyester lusterglo with a softly draped asym metrical empire bodice with one-shoulder styling and thin spaghetti straps. The dress also featured a separate capelet of chiffon. They carried old-fashioned Victo rian nosegays of pink car- I nations, white marguerita I daisies and gypsophila tied with rose colored satin I streamers. I Mindy Barwick, niece of I the groom, served as flower I girl and David "Yogi" Bar- I wick, nephew of the groom, I served as ring bearer. I The groom chose his father I as best man. Ushers were I Herman Barwick Jr. of Kin ston and Linwood Barwick of I Garner, brothers of the I groom, Fred Williams of I Grifton, brother of the bride, Van Davis of Kinston, and I Donald Kennedy of Pink Hill. I The mother of the bride I wore a mint green gown of I chiffon with a V-neckline and I fitted waist with embellished I seed pearls. A sheer capulet I covered the shoulders. A I flared skirt competed the I gown. The mother of the groom I wore a long-sleeved gown of I gray polyester. Ruffles were I featured both on the sleeves I and at the neckline. The skirt was made of sunburst pleats. I Each mother wore a cor- I sage of a georgiana orchid I accented with a white lace brocade bow. The wedding was directed I by Lynda W. Stroud of Pink I Hill. Sherry Kennedy pre sided at the register. Pro- I grams were distributed by Jo I Ann Barrow. I The bride is a 1978 gradu- I ate of East Duplin High I School. She was graduated I from James Sprunt Technical I College with a business de- I gree. and is presently em- I ployed by First Citziens Bank in Pink Hill. The groom is a 1975 I graduate of Bethel Academy. I He is presently employed as I a counter manager at I Shepherd Electric in Kinston. After a wedding trip to I Florida, the couple will I reside at Route two. Pink Hill. Reception I Immediately following the I ceremony, guests were I entertained at a reception at I the home of the bride. They were greeted by Mr. and I Mrs. Remus Teachey and I introduced to the receiving I line. They were invited to the I reception table which was I covered with a pale green I cloth overlaid with white I lace. A silver candelabrum I filled with snapdragons, I mums, fupi oomoons. car- I nations and gypsophila I served as the centerpiece. I One end of the tahle held I the five-tiered wedding cake I while the other end was I graced by a silver punch I bowl filled with pink punch. I Mrs. Reba Wagner, aunt of I the bride, poured punch. I Mrs. Hilda Grace Smith I served the wedding cake. Other refreshments consisted of cheese straws, mints, nuts, patty shells with fruit filling, assorted party sandwiches and sausage balls. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Tyndall presided in the gift room. Goodbyes were said of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Tucker. Courtesies On March 5th, a miscel laneous shower was given by Hilda Grace Smith, Lucille Smith, Geraldine Tucker and Annette Tyndall. On March 12th, a lingerie shower was given by Cynthia Williams, Jerri Aldridgc and Kim Smith. On March 17th, a surprise luncheon was given by the bride's co-workers at First Citizens Bank. On March 20th, a mis cellaneous shower was given by Bobbie Barwick, Betty Barwick and Eva Barwick. On March 27th, a coke party was hosted by the United Methodist Women at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Watson. A oatio sunoer was eiven on April 3rd by Mr. and Mrs. WilburTyndall at their home on North Front Street in Pink Hill. A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's parents on April 24th at the Wagon Wheel in Beulaville. Mr. and Mrs. Remus Teachey hosted an after rehearsal party at their home on North Front Street in Pink Hill on April 24th.
