^ Unbeaten W-RH Wins ECC 2-A Title MT Homecoming Celebrated By James Kenan Tigers Vie'aria Moore was crowned 1985 Co-Homecoming Queen at James Kenan High School. Viearia was escorted by Dewayne Chasten. She is the daughter of tylr. and Mrs. David Moore of Kenansville. \ ^ The JK cheerleaders held this sign for the James Kenan Tiger Football Team to break through just before the kick-off of the homecoming game against East Duplin on Friday night. The Tigers won 9-7. Amy West was crowned 1985 Co-Homecoming Queen at James Kenan High School. She was crowned by Tina Long and escorted by Ray Cooke. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry West of Warsaw East Central 2-A Football Round-Up Wallace: The undefeated Wallace Rose Hill Bulldogs, better known as "HoUey's Raiders," clinched their second straight East Central 2-A Conference championship last Friday night in "Death Valley" by stopping the Patriots of Pender 39-14. It was the 10th straight ECC win for Coach Jack Holley's Dawgs and makes them 20-0 in conference war since 1983. The Bulldogs' hard-running Johnny Johnson, the best all-round player in the ECC, rambled for two downs and rushed 199 yards to lead the Bulldog attack. Ricky Brown, another Bulldog, raced for two touchdowns and netted 179 yards at the Wallace-Rose Hill Dawgs posted their second consecutive 10-0 regular season. In four seasons under Coach Holley, the Bulldogs have compiled a 43-4 record, including one co-crown and one Division II championship. We congratulate Coach Holley, his team and his school on their out standing accomplishment. Best of luck in the state playoffs. Warsaw: The James Kenan Tigers put on a real good show for their Homecoming crowd last Friday night with a 9-7 East Central 2-A win over the Panthers of East Duplin. The fighting Tigers trailing 7-6 with just m under two minutes left in the game, called on sophomore Chuck Korne gay, and he kicked a 31-yard field goal to give James Kenan the win 9-7. The win also gave Coach Billy Byrd an overall winning season, 6-4. It was the first kick of the season for young Kornegay, and he came through for dear old JK. We want to congratulate the James Kenan team and Coach Byrd and his coaching staff on a fine job this season.
