The following students have en rolled in King's Business College for full courses since Monday: Miss Luola Moore, Fayetteville, N. C, enrolled in the Shorthand De partment ; Mr. Geo. L. Cooke, Frank lin, N. C., registered for the com bined course; Mr, Howard Watson, Kenly, N. C, entered the commer cial Department Tuesday. Mr. J. F. Ezzell, Faison, N. C, en tered for the combined course. ' Miss Rena Ilawley, Jonesboro, N. C., enrolled for the shorthand course. Mr. Walter Farabow, Stem, N. C, entered yesterday for the commer cial course. Mr. II. McKeithan, Reoan, N. C., has registered for the combined course. Mr. J. R. King, Louisburg, X. C, is taking the combined course. Mr. Whitaker Ham, Goldsboro, has enrolled for the combined course. Mr. J. R. Johnson, South Creek, N. C, entered Wednesday for the combined course. Mr. J. G. Mayo, South Creek, N. C, has enrolled for the commercial course. Mr. H. I. Coffield, Everett, X. C, has entered for a course in short hand and typewriting. Mr. Jas. D. Roberts, Uledi, Pa., entered today for the commercial course. Miss Iris Jones, Sanford, X. C, has enrolled for the shorthand "course. ' Mr. J. L. Whitley, Battleboro, X. C, has registered for the combined course.' Mr. D. S. Packard, has accepted a position as bookkeeper for Pine hurst Gen. Office, Pinehurst, X. C. The success of King's Business College has been something phenom enal. The year just closing has been a great success from every stand point. A thousand of its students now hold responsible positions through out Xorth Carolina and these all speak in highest terms of the thor oughness and splendid system of this well established and popular college. Xo institution in Raleigh was ever more highly endorsed by the merchants, business and profession al men than King's Business College. Prof. J. IT. King has just cause to feel proud of the high position his school occupies, not only in Xorth Carolina, but in many other States. If you are thinking of taking a business course, you could not make a better selection than King's Bus iness College. The handsome residence of Prof. J. Allen Holt, of Oak Ridge Insti tute, was burnt to the ground at 8 o'clock Monday morning. The fire was first discovered by the kitchen falling in. Mr. Earle Holt, son of Prof. J. Allen Holt, was painfully burnt about the neck and hands, but his wounds are not serious. By he roic efforts of the students, profes sors and f acuity the dormitory and the institute were saved. The total value of the property burned was $6,000, fully covered by insurance. The wife of Mack Barnes, colored, who lives in Edgecombe County, committed suicide last week by blow ing her brains out with a gun. The woman, it is said, made preparation for the event. She was alone in the house with a little girl and the child says her mother got the gun, placed it to her ear and told her to pull the trigger, but she did not. That her mother told her again to pull the trigger, that there was nothing in the gun, and she pulled.
