He is a visitor of his sister Mrs. Skipper. Society PRIMARY AND BEGINNERS CLASS ENTERTAINED Mrs. H. M. Morrison and Mrs. J. D. Robinson entertain ed the Primary and Beginners Class of the Presbyterian Church Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Robinson. The little folks enjoyed an Easter egg hunt out on the lawn. The hostesses served lemonade, cakes, and Easter candies to their guests. * * # METHODIST CIRCLES MEET The circles of the Methodist Missionary Society will meet as follows: Fannie Westbrook, with Mrs. A. J. Cavenaugh, on Monday, at 3 o’clock. Ida Gibbons with Mrs. J. A. Harrell, Monday at 3 o’clock. Annie Boney, with Miss Ma ry Elizabeth Wells, Tuesday night at 8 o’clock. Cav enaugh. * * • FIFTH AND SIXTH GRADES ENTERTAINED WITH PARTY Miss Hudson’s pupils of the fifth and sixth grades were en tertained Friday night at a de lightful party at the home of Mrs. A. B. Bland. The lawn was lighted and many games were enjoyed. An amateur pro gram put on by the pupils af forded much amusement. Late in the evening the grade mothers, Mrs. Wesley Sykes, Mrs. Julian Carr, Mrs. Bob Sheffield and Mrs. B. O. Baker assisted by Miss Mary Margar et Hudson, served ice cream and cake to the guests. * * • ENTERTAINS ON SON’S TENTH BIRTHDAY Mrs. J. D. Robinson enter tained on Friday in celebration of the tenth birthday of her son, Jack. Many games andj contests were played on the; lawn. JONES HOSTESS , AT LUNEHEON Mrs. W. B. Jones was hos tess at a delightful luncheon on Monday when she entertained I the executive board of the Presbyterian Auxiliary of which she is president. Guests were seated in the dining room where a delicious three course luncheon was served. I* Indians Said Devil Lived Here “The devil’s Tombstone," shown above, is in Palo Dnro Canyon, near Canyon City, Texas, 18 miles south of Amarillo. The canyon is one of the beauty spots of Texas that will lure tourists in their 1936 visits to th« Texas Centenniaf Exposition at Dallas and other celebrations throughout the state. COOK HONORS DAUGHTER AND FACULTY | Mrs. Ella Cook entertained on Wednesday evening honoring her daughter, Kathleen, and the members of the local school faculty. Vases of early spring flowers were used in the rooms where tables were placed for bridge. A color motif of yellow and white was carried out in all the appointments. Since it was al so the anniversary of her dau ghter’s birthday a beautiful cake centered the dining room table and yellow tapers in sil ver holders were on each side. High score prize was award ed to Miss Mary Gamble and low score to Mrs. E. J. Johnson. The hostess, assisted by Mrs. D. A. Rawley and Mrs. A. J. ROSE One of the prettiest parties of the season was the tea given by Mrs. Edward Farrior on Friday afternoon honoring Mrs. William Rose, who before her marriage on April 12 was Miss Alice Farrior. The home was lovely with de corations of early spring flow ers. Bowls of azaleas, yellow iris and large baskets of spirea and bridal wreath were used in the living room. Guests were greeted by Mrs. E. J. Johnson and presented to the receiving line which was composed of Mrs. Edward Far rior, Mrs. William Rose, Mrs. Robert Farrior, Miss Ruth Al britton! Mrs. Clarence Carr, of Burgaw, and Mrs. Rivers Law ther of Wilmington. Mrs. Far rior received her guests in a black lace dress with a corsage of sweet peas; Mrs. Rose wasj gowned in an afternoon dress of blue moiree with a corsage of pink rose buuds. Mrs. Rob-' ert Farrior, mother of the bride, j wore grey chiffon with laven-i der sweet peas. Misses Kathleen Cook and| Mary Graham Smith invited the callers into the dinning room where Mrs. W. D. Campbell and Mrs. Stokes Williams cut cream! at a beautifully appointed table. An arrangement of mixed flow ers of pastel shades graced the center of the table and was] flanked by green tapers burn ing in silver holders.
