B. Hunter and Frank Jones spent two days at Carolina Beach last week. Mrs. J. S. Jones and Miss Nor ma Croom of Wilmington spent several days with Mrs. J. N. Horne last week. On Thursday, Mrs. Horne, Mrs. Jones, Mrs. Ed win Jenkins, Miss Louise Croom and Miss orma Croom motored to Farmville to visit Mrs. John T. Thorne. Mrs. Thorne returned with them for the week-end. Mrs. E. W. Jenkins of Fair Bluff spent last week with her sister, Mrs. S. B. Hunter. Dr. and Mrs. S. B. Hunter, Jr., and two boys, Col. S. T. Levy and Mrs. Levy and daughter, Burns, of Goldsboro, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hooks and Mr. Da vid of Fremont, and E. W. Jen kins of Fair Bluff visited the S. B. Hunters on Sunday. Mrs. Paul Cook of Atkinson is visiting her sister, Miss Annie Swinson. Mrs. L. D. Dail and daughter, Miss Martha, motored to Kenans ville Sunday p. m. The meeting of the Y. W. A. of the Baptist Church was held Wednesday night with a large at tendance, at the home of Mrs. Herbert Tucker. They carried out the special state mission pro gram. The counselor, Miss Macy Cox, led the meeting and was ably assisted by Miss Martha Dail, Misses Vera and Mildred Hamilton, Lela Tucker, Alma Baker, Mesdames Harold Ezzell, Ed Evans, James Earl Jones, Melvin Pope and Miss Miriam Tucker. Mr. and Mrs. Elsie Strickland of Miami, Fla., visited her fath er, Mr. L. W. Brown and sister, Mrs. Chauncey Evans last week. Miss Kathleen Merritt of Fai son visited her grandmother, Mrs. Puss Merritt last week and Mrs. Merritt returned with her for a visit. Robert Sanderson is on thirty day furlough at home with his parents, .Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Sanderson. John Powell has enlisted in the Navy. Week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Wilson were Mrs. Pete Schok and little daughter, Kay, of Philadelphia, Pa., Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Kello and little daughter* Renae, Mr. and Mrs. Will Owens of Wilson. They also visited their grandmother, Mrs. Lessie Powell and their aunt, Mrs. Laura Merrit and other friends. Joining them on Sunday afternoon were Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Brown and two chil dren, Carolyn and Roy from Wallace and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Cottle and little daughter, Jean of Rose Hill and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sykes and Nelpha of Turkey. Guests of Rev. and Mrs. J. B. Sessoms are their son, J. B. Ses soms, Jr., his wife and baby, little J. B., Ill of Miami, Florida. Mrs. Dick Kissner was carried to Goldsboro hospital Monday.
