Wells, has arrived in Copenhagen, Denmark, to re- i sume his duties with the Ameri can legation. The trip was made by traAs-Atlantlc Cupper from New York in 24 hours, making a four-hour stop in Newfound land and a breakfast stop in Ire land. Mbs. James R. Bradford, Mrs. S. R. Turner and Bryan Turner of Fayetteville were over-night guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Mac Millan. Mrs. J. B. Wells is spending some time with Mr. and Mrs. R. \ G. Mohr and son of Wilmington. Miss Hortense Blanton and Mrs. H. L. Rivenbark of Wake Forest College were guests of their parents over the week-end. Mrs. F. M. Bain of Rose Hill . and Mrs. Jake Wells have at- J tended the group conferences of j the sixth district of the Wilming- ; ton Presbytery this week and last. Meetings held at the fol lowing churches: Acme, More head City, St. Andrews Church ; of the oveCnant, Pink Hill, Rose \ Hill and Caswell. Mrs. Edgar 1 Wells accompanied them to Morehead City and Pink Hill. Friends of Mrs. O. T. Teachey, who is a patient at James Wal ker Hospital of Wilmington will be glad to know she is slightly better. Clyde W. Fussell of U.N.C. at Chapel Hill, Edgar Wells, Jr., and John Franklin Wells of Wilmington were at home over the week-end. Miss Carolyn Tur ner spent Monday in Wilming ton. Miss J-aura layior ana miss Hilda Hearn, student nurse at James Walker Memorial Hos pital in Wilmington were guests of Miss Hearn’s parents over the week-end. Billy Mumford, U.S.N., of Bainbridge, Md., is spending some time in Wilmington visit ing his aunt, Mrs. O. T. Teachey. Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Blanton, Mrs. Paul Carr, Mrs. J. B. Kil patrick and Mrs. J. C. Stuart vis ited Mrs. O. T. Teachey at the James Walker Memorial Hospi tal in Wilmington. Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Wells of Greensboro are spending a few days with relatives. DEDICATION SERVICES The dedication service at the Baptist Church on the 5th Sun day was by Rev. Arthur Glazier, the pew pulpit furniture, the communion table, chairs and col lection plates were given in memory of the three gold star members, Lt. Francis L. Hunt, S-Sgt. Henry D. MacMillan and S-2C Winfred Brown. A picnic lunch was served and in the aft-, ernoon were church reports, talks and singing. A large crowd attended. Lee will be glad to know she is home from James Walker Memorial Hospital. She is the oldest to bave an appendix operation in that hospital, being 85 years old. Mrs. E. C.
