while Dr. Swearingen is attending
officers' reserve camp at Fort

Cheryl, arrived' Wednesday for a
weekend visit with Mrs. Robert Til
lett, en route" to their home in New
York from Wrightsville Beach
where they have been staying.

Bentley Ward, who has been liv
ing at the D. F. Merrill's for the
past three months while working
at the Morehead City Yacht basin,
left Sunday for Thunderbolt, Ga.,
where he has been transferred.
Mrs. Kenneth Dieffenbach and
children, formerly of Beaufort,
now of Miami, Fla., spent Tuesday
night with Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Keel,
en route to Pennsylvania.

Mann-McCluskey Marriage Vows

The Bev. McCluskey, father of
the bride, performed the marriage
ceremony before an altar banked
with white gladioli. Seven-branch

street, arrived home from Korea
last Friday to spend a 30-day leave
with his parents. He has been serv
ing in Korea for the past 10
months.

musical selections were given by

Mr. and Mrs. Richard W. Stowe,
Mrs H. J. Davis, Mrs R. L. Whitt
temore, Mrs. J. R. Washington and
the church choir.
The bride, who was given in mar
riage by her uncle, Charles W.
McCluskey, wore a gown of candle
light satin and chantilly lace, with
a sweetheart neckline, a long sleev
ed lace bodice which fell into a
voluminous skirt ending in a long
train, with a lac* panel in the
front. Her tiered veil of illusion
was edged in chantilly lace and
gathered to a satin bandeau with
clusters of satin leaves and pearls.
She carried a white satin Bible on
which was pinned a purple throat
ed white orchid showered with
valley lilies. ? "
Miss Harriet June McCluskey,
sister of the bride, and Mrs. Glenn
C. Mann, sister-in-law of the groom,
were maid and matron of honor.
They were gowned alike in nile
green net over taffetb with fitted
bodice and full skirt. They wore
matching mitts and halos. They
carried starched lace fans on which
were arranged white rosebuds in
fan shape, centered with a purple
orchid.
Phyllis Dawn McCluskey, cousin
of the bride, was flower girl. She
wore a dress of yellow net over
taffeta, with ruffled sleeves and
skirt, and a yellow net bonnet and
mitts.
Best man for Mr. Mann was his
brother-in-law, Glenn C. Mann.
Ushers were Klbert Mann of New
port, brother of the groom, Cooli
dge Merrill of Morehead City, Har
ry L. Brown and Delmar E. Brown,
both of Greensboro.
Mrs. McCluskey chose a navy
sheer dress with matching acees
sories for her daughter's wedding
and Mrs. Mann, mother of the
groom, wore a beige sheer dress
with brown accessories. Both wore
orchids.
Before leaving on a wedding trip
to Lake Lure, the bride changed
into a blue suit with accessories of
champagne and brown. The bride
will live with her parents until
the groom's release from service
in November.
The bride is a graduate of Ker
nersville High School, attended
Woman's college and the Univer
sity of North Carolina, and will
complete a course at King's Busi
ness college next month.
The groom is a graduate of New
port high school, and was formerly
employed at the Greensboro At
lantic Pacific Tea company. He
has just returned from service in
Korea, and will report to Fort Jack
son. S. C., in August for further
military orders.
