Meets The Methodist Men's Club of St. James Methodist Church held its first meeting Thursday night in the educational building Sup per was served by the Floy Garner Sunday School class to the 27 men present. Foilouing supper, the Rev. Mr. X. H. Waidrop Jr.. who was cele bra ting hi* birthday, was presented a gift and birthday cake from the Woman's Society of Christian Ser vice. The group decided to meet the first Thursday in each month, and any men interested in joining are invited to attend the next meet ing. Baptist Brotherhood The Free Will Baptist Brother hood of the Newport Holly Springs Church met at the home of Mr. Allen Cannon Wednesday evening. The Rev. Mr. J. R. Forrest, pastor, gave the devotional and group singing was enjoyed by all. Mr. Otto Slaughter presided dur ing the business period. There were 33 members present. The rotherhood is doing very good work in and out of the church. At the close of the business session, a social hour was enjoyed. Mrs. Allen, assisted by Mrs. Du vid Kirk, served refreshments.
