Even the meaning of the word Lent" it linked with the season, being de rived from the Saxon "Lengten tide" ? when the days lengthen. Food plays an important role at this time of year whether it be to onserve me cus tom of fasting in Lent or sim ply to celebrate dining by day light. Fish and cheese dishes are favorites at this season. Most welcome is abundance of 'lay G.
