Thread herring (11.7 million pounds) showed an increase of 7.3 million pounds compared with the same month of iast year. Mcn haden and blue crabs accounted for gains of 2.5 million and 305 thousand pounds respectively. During the first ten months of 1960, landings of fish and shellfish at North Carolina ports amounted to 117.8 million pounds—a drop of 24 per cent compared with the 1959 ten-month period.
