THE FSA PROGRAM IN YANCEY COUNTY Some objectives of the F. S. A. program in the county were reported last week. Among the other ac complishments during the past ten years are the fol lowing: 6. Promotion of Family Health: By advocating a well-balanced diet and three! good meals daily, the health of the average family ha.v greatly improved. All hous es are recommended for screening and all springs and water supplies being in good condition to meet minimum State health re quirements. Over 75 families consist-! ing of 450 people have par ticipated in the Hospital an d - Surgical Insurance Program, with many fami lies having their entire bills paid when attending hospi tals during illness. 7. Home Improvement: During the past 5 years over 100 modern storage houses have been built by FSA families. Approximat ely 150 houses have been re modeled and repaired; some, have had additional rooms added, while others have been completely renovated. 8.
