THURSDAY, JANUARY 25, 1951 Disabled Korean War Vets; To Get GI Training Regulations out lining conditions under which vet; erans, disabled after fight-1 ing started in Korea, may! be entitled to Piflblic Law, 16 rehabilitation training, have been issued by the N. C. Veterans Administ ration Regional Office. The training, previously limited to World War II | veterans, was extended to many veterans disabled on “Stars In My Crown”, Coming to Yancey Theatre Next Week] “Stars in My Crown”, coming to the; Yancey Theatre next Wed., Thur.. and Fri., is sc heartwarm ing story of a small South ern settlement at the close of the Civil War and of a two-fisted preaches, enact ed by Joel McCrea, who leads the way in making his community a better place to'live in. Josiah Gray, the preach er, inspires the community to bcild its first church, marries the pretty organ ist and makes his stead fast courage and honesty felt by almost every mem ber of the village. Even Doc Harris, the dream smasher and disbeliever, is won over when the pre acher saves the life of Doc’s fiancee after all the doctor’s medical knowled ge fails; and in the end Lon Backett, the town’s She’s Winning Over Polio ■ w «ilay . Instead, they will have nine years from the end of the current emergency 'in which to train. In the case of a veteran who interrupted Fublic Law 16 training to re-en ter the armed forces, the VA also will evaluate his past training record and present medical file to de termine whether he still is able to go ahead is the [same employment objec tive.
