My lather used to carry th e mail to a sleigh. There were bells on Ihe horses* harness. Then he had » mail wagon tor nicer weather there were pigeonholes fa the' jtesk-like front of the wagon. r>, o ilelgh and wagon were horse irawn. Later he bought a Model t and as time went on, better cars all the time. I remember the old lamplighter, who was the town marshal, walked around carrying a ladder. He’d 1 climb up the lamp post and light I the gas lights, or put on a new globe or mantle. I remember when the streets ! were dust paths. Summers the sprinkling wagon would coma around spraying water to lay the dust. There were always a gang of barefoot boys following the sprinkler to get their feet wet. Later they started spraying o fl 1 on the streets to lay the dust, which was a sad day indeed for we barefoot kids got that all over our feet It has been fun to live to an age where one can witness so many going on fa the world. c f « * " ■ .«.
