Harold McDonald. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward T. Buckner. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Nathan Arthur Jr. of Arden. Mr. Buckner gave his daughter in marriage. The couple was unattended. The bride wore a white shantung suit with green ac cessories. Her parents were host for a reception' in their home fol lowing the ceremony. Mrs. James Pepper HI and Mrs. Raymond Wilson assisted. The couple will live in Ar den. The bride is employed by Crowning Glory Hair Fash ions and the bridegroom works for Arcadia Dairy Farms. Huskins of Lenoir announce the engagement of their dau ghter, Cornelia Jane Huskins, to Henry Wesley Garbee of Winston-Salem. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Garbee of Huntington, West Virginia. The bride-elect is a teacher in the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School system where she has taught since graduat ing from Wake Forest College. The groom-elect, a graduate of Marshall University, is a student at Bowman-Gray School of Medicine. Miss Huskins is the grand daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Huskins of Burnsville and of Mrs. John Thomas Anglin of Mcavllle. July 17 has been set as the wedding date. The ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Thomas Weeks. Mrs. Mary Cecil Seviers was pianist and Steve Prolfift was vocalist. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Fleet York Proffitt of Bald Creek and the late Mr. Proffitt. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Stellar Vance Holt of Char lotte and file late Mr. Holt. The bride was escorted by her uncle, James W. Proffitt, and given in marriage by her moth er. She wore a full length peau de soie gown trimmed in Alen con lace, a double illustion veil attached to a lace cap embroid ered with seed pearls and car ried a cascade of calla lilies and shasta daisies. Her sister, Susan Gayle Prof fitt, was maiden of honor and Miss Carolyn Bailey, cousin of the bride; Miss Audrey Holt of Charlotte, sister of the bride groom; Miss Rebecca Falls and Mrs. Barbara Wood of Belmont; Miss Carolyn Mullinax of Ashe ville and Mrs. Charlye Shoe maker of Waynesville were bridesmaids. Miss Wilson Is Wed To McKinney SPRUCE PINE - Miss Barbara Ann Wilson and Sam uel David McKinney were married Friday in Liberty Hill Baptist Church by the Rev. Ben Lee Ray of Grassy Creek Baptist Church. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leßoy Wilson of Burnsville and is a graduate of Appalachian State Teach ers College. She teaches in Iredell County. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Bill McKinney Sr. and the late Mr. McKinney. He • attended Appalachian State Teachers College and is em ployed by Fiber Industries of Shelby.' Mr. Wilson gave his daugh ter in marriage. Miss Carole Ann Byrd was maid of honor and bridesmaids were Miss Annette Shuford and Miss Glenda Kincaid. They wore yellow. The bride was attired in a classic gown with a veil attached to a floral bandeau. For the ceremony the bride’s mother wore green and the bridegroom’s mother was attired in a rose ensem ble. An informal reception was held in the home of the bride after the rehearsal Thursday. Mrs. Ronald Kates assisted. The couple will live in Statesville. Teachers and State Employees’ Retirement System in Raleigh. _ The bridegroom, a graduate of West Mecklenburg High High School and WOC where he was a member of Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. He is employed by General Electric Credit Corp. in Raleigh. The bride’s mother and the bridegroom’s mother royal blue chiffon, both with matching accessories and yel low cymbidium orchid corsages.
