Tax Short Course To Be Held Across State North Carolina State Uni versity’s Farm and Small Business Income Tax Short Courses will be held In four locations across the state, beginning in late November, according to E. L. Dillingham County Extension Chairman. The two-day course, espec ially designed for account ants who figure other per sons’ returns, will be held in Asheville, November 29-30; Charlotte, December 1-2; Greensboro, December 2-3; and Greenville, December 6-7. The course content will be the same in each location with each program offering a complete run-down on the new features of both the and Federal Revenue. Laws. Cooperating in the presen tation of these programs are the United States Internal Revenue Service, the North Carolina Department of Re venugg the North Carolina S-ciety of Accountants and the Social Security Adminis tration. The courses are conducted as a cooDerative venture of the Division of Continuing Education and the Deoart meot of Econom’cs at North Carolina State University. Among the topics which will be discussed by the ac countants attending the pro gram will be farm income, self employment Income, business Income and expen ses, capital gains and losses, travel expenses and exemp tions, state income tax laws, Social Security regulations, itemized deductions and a close look at the* many chan ges made in the Federal Re venue Act of 1964. An advanced course, ftr those persons wishing addi tional instructiofi in this particular field, is slated for the North Carolina State University campus on Dec ember 8-10. Th's advanced course is re commended for only those persons who have consider able knowledge and experi ence in the fle’d of income tax filing and returns. C\, Chapel Hill students sign ed a telegram to be sent to the armed forces in Viet Nam at Thanksgiving.
