We are glad to report that Bruce Westall Is able to be back on the job after a sick spell. Richard Currie of Houston, Texas, has joined his wife, the former Mary Alice Wes tall, for a visit with Mra. Westall’s parents, Mr. and Mrs Bruce Westall. Hie Cur ries have recently moved from California to Houston, Texas where they will make their home. Pate died Nov. 14th, In a Yancey County Hospital, . after a long illness. Mr. Pate was a retired mall carrier of the Relief postoffice. D. G. Hughes was here at Byrd Creek recently, visiting with relatives. Bobby Barnett who Is em ployed at Lenoir, N. C. was off from work last week, due to getting his right leg hurt on Sunday, Nov. 14, while riding a motorbike. Park Hughes and Asple McCourry took their tobacco to the market this past Fri day. They took the tobacco to a plant at Johnson City. It will*be sold on Dec. 2nd, they said. - Park Hughes took a calf to the stock market in John son City, this past Wednes day. Asple McCourry told the writer that he saw approxi mately 500 crows flying over th's section one day last week. Mr. and Mrs. Toney Bar- rett from Lenoir, were here one week-end recently visit ing With h's aprents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Barnett. Jeff Peterson and Floyd Pate were here last Sunday, • two weeks ago visiting with Eugene Whitson. The writer visited home folks here over the week-end from Lenoir, N. C. where he Is working. Mr. Renfro from Brum mett’s Creek was at Bakers ▼llle one day last week on business. Ray Barnett W>k one of his milk cows to Burnsville lost week, after she got a apple hung In her throat. Clyde Barnett wm here over the week-end visiting, with home folks, from Le noir, N. C. Ronnie Johnson is here at this writing visiting from Tsxm. Ronnie and David Johnson were here at Bprd Creek last Saturday, visiting with Beth Hughes. Doyle Bryant from Lenoir, and Clyde Parnett visited at the Hughes’ home here Nov. 14th. The weather here in this area at this writing is quite cool, with the temperature In the low 30’s.
