4-H Clover
Club News
The February meeting of
the 4-H Clover Club featured
a program by Miss Wanda Ed
wards, Yancey County Public
Health Nurse, on teeth and
dental health. Mbs Edwards
explained how various foods
help make healthy teeth and
explained how to bnah proper
ly to aid in tooth care.
Then on February 16, Mbs
Carole Pyle helped the mem
bers in a sewing workshop. The
girls began the project, "The
ABC's of Sewing" by covering
sewing boxes with contact pa
per and starting on wrist pin -
cushions. At the next workshop
which followed the regular
meeting March 9, the girls fi
nished their pincushions and
began making potholders.
An important objecthe was
achieved when the club became
officially charted in January.
The club members all went
skating on Friday, February 26.
Some of the girls could already
skate, three of them 1 e amed
to skate, and some enjoyed
watching, but all had a good
time.
