Satur - day, June 12, in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. The ceremony was conducted by the Rev. R.C, Mumpowcr. The bride is the daughter d Mr. and Mrs. James Enzy Let terman of Green Mountain and Mr. Wliitson is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Shurl Whitson of Re lief, N.C. Wedding music was presen ted by Mrs. Anita Neil, Mr. Charlie Boone and Miss Susan Hensley. The church was flanked with spiral candelabras and baskets of white gladiolas and shasta daisies. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a self made and designed Empire gown of candlelight bridal savin with antique lace sleeves. Her waist-length man tilla of English net was edged with antique lace. Mrs. Teresa of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a lemon yel low full-length crepe gown with tucked bodice and puff sleeves trimmed in lace. Bridesmaids were Miss Shil da Woody of Burnsville, Miss Eleanor Duckett of Vienna, Va, Miss Marcia Gay and Mis. Judi Robertson of Asheville. Their gowns were lime-green and each carried a cascade of yel low daisies and baby's breath. Miss April Lewis and Tom my Lewis of Cherry Point wffe junior attendants. Tommy Robertson was best man and ushers were Chris Cooper of Shelby, John Fel meth, Lynn Robinson and Dan Perry of Asheville. The mother of the bride ware an aqua crepe dress ac cented with alencon lace and matching accessories. ———— ! E. Lewis registered the guests. Following the rehearsal on Friday night, Major and Mrs. T.E. Lewis were hosts to a cake cutting held on the lawn of the bride's parents home. The bride received a BS degree in home economics at Mars Hill College and Mr. Whitson attended East Tennes see State University and Wes tern Piedmont College.
