Also appearing in the parade was Little Miss Mayland, Miss Rhododon - dron, a number of marching bands and a host of beauti - ful floats. Miss Mayland will crown the winner of the Boy Scout Beauty Contest this Saturday night at the Community Building. Melissa teaches geogra - phy, English, special edu - cation and drama at East Yancey. Her drama class is now working on a play which will be presented after January 1, 1972. The award was presented to Ernie at a District Court of Honor held ht Higgins Memorial Methodist Church in Burnsville. Mr. Carl Hunter, Scout executive of the Daniel Boone Council, presented the award. Other Scouts receiving awards were Steve Parsley, Tenderfoot Rank; Allen Presnell and Mike Grindstaff, 2nd Class.
