Rev. Fred E. Harrell conducted the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Ray of Burnsville. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Whitson of Relief. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a full length gown of summer white organza with venise lace. Her chapel length veil of silk illusion was trimmed with venise lace and attached to a camelot cap. Matron of honor was Beverly Buchanan of Hickory, N.C. She was dressed in a floor length Homecoming Birthday Celebration There will be a great Homecoming on Sunday, July 14th at Griffith Chapel AME Zion Church, Burnsville, at which time Mrs. Hattie Young wiil be honored on her 86th birthday with a musical. Special singing groups will be featured on this occasion, including the “Inspirations” of Tryon, N.C.; the “Gospel Souls” from Asheville; “Little Mt. Zion Choir” from Weaver ville; “The Gospel Choir of Varicks Chapel AME Zion Church”; the “Westor Trio” from Weaverville, and many, many more. The public is invited to Come and Enjoy the Lord and help celebrate with Mrs. Hattie Young on her birthday. Ushers were Terry Miller, Kenny Hedrick, Jeff Fox and Ricky Ray, brother of the bride. A reception followed the ceremony in the fellowship hall of the church. Mrs. Whitson is employed with Nancy Lynn Fashion in Knoxville, Tenn. Mr. Whitson is employed as an Electrical Engineering Aid for the Ten nessee Valley Authority in Knoxville, Tenn. where the couple will live. Mrs. Harold Lusk, Mrs. Jack B.
