In other areas of the Yancey County School system, repairs and renovations of existing schools have been made in the past year. Floor coverings of tile and carpet have been placed at South Toe, Bald Creek, Bee Log and Clearmont. Ceilings have been lowered and flourescent lighting installed at Burnsville, Micaville, Clearmont and Bald Creek. An enclosed play area is being planned for Pensacola and restroom facilities have been improved at Burnsville Ele mentary. Beginning with the 1973-74 school year, fees were .elimina ted in all elementary schools.
