Cattail Creek Report BY MRS. NEVA RENALDO - ---- Cattail Correspondent The Cattail Homeowners meeting convened at the community hall after a sump tious covered dish dinner. The following offices were filled: President Swen Ear mark; Vice President, Mrs. Walter Elements; Secretary, Miss Helen Underwood; Dir ectors, Harold Gronquist and Neva Renaldo. Charley Rath bum was again appointed caretaker for the year. ** The Gronquists had a small family reunion over the weekend. The Harold Gron quist family of Ft. Lauder dale, the Jerry Ray family of Greensboro, Jim and Sue Gronquist of Washington, D.C. Also a few non-family guests were the Charles Lees of Greensboro and the Snable family of Ft. Lauderdale. Things were really jumping around that cabin. •* The Marcus Cornelius family arrived from Virginia in time for the annual meeting and will be with us a few more weeks. ** We welcome Bob and Gayle Eemper of Eemper’s Cove to the area. ** The excitement is running high at Richardson’s “Out O’ Sight” cabin. Mrs. Richard son’s two sisters, Dora Favalora and Dee Marcus, with her two children have arrived from New Orleans— also two nephews, Dale and Wade. I believe it is their first trip to these mountains and they are enjoying the Cattail atmosphere to its fullest. ** The Secrest family have taken off for Myrtle Beach for a week, before returning to Chapel Hill to resume their active life at the University there. ** The Bob Eemper’s first houseguests at Eemper’s Cove were David and Susan Greenburg of Miami. ** The Schnupp cabins have been very much alive this past week. Linda and Bob Peacock with daughter Eelly have been visiting with mother Schnupp. Also son-in-law Rick Huber and grandson Mark Huber have been keeping things buzzing there. : The Simons and the Horvaths have been enjoyng some well earned time at their respective cabins. ** u Layton Tyner is back from 6 weeks in Germany and has many exciting experiences to relate (Oh to be 16 again!) #* We are all most pleased to have Bill Heckart back home with us and hope his recovery will be a speedy one. Just a few more nites of Bingo-so do join us on Wednesday nights at 7:30. Hope to see you there. Williams of Alexan dria, Va. have been visiting Mrs. Jim Mclntosh and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Eing in Burnsville. Mrs. E.L. Briggs and Mrs. P.C. Coletta served as com mentators at the Burnsville Woman’s Club’s celebration of the club’s fifty years of service. They are pictured with a golden bell to symbolize the event. Martin and David of Springfield, Va. have been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Westall of Burns ville. * Misses Michelle & Rhon da Webb of Bakersville spent last week in Burnsville visit ing their grandmother, Mrs. Pearl Edwards. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hensley and boys of Ocala, Florida have returned home after a visit with her mother, Mrs. Pearl Edwards. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. Benefit Singing Set The Big Creek Free Will Baptist Church will have a benefit singing Saturday, August 21 at 7:30 p.m. It is being sponsored by the Big Creek Youth Choir. Everyone is cordially invited. Grace Trio from Elk Park, and the Phillip Simmons family from Celo.
