Lions Involved In
White Cane Drive
Recently, the semi-annual
meeting of The Northwestern
District of the North Carolina
Social Service Association was
held at the First Baptist
Church, Burnsville, with 45
persons present. The barbe
cue luncheon, catered by
members of the Burnsville
Lions Gub, was prepared and
served at Higgins Memorial
United Methodist Church.
According to Bill Haines,
Lions Club President and Lion
John C. McLain, the-
Burnsville Lions had a dual
purpose: a community service
project and a means of raising
funds for the current White
Cane drive.
