The Rebels’ overall scoring record was 256 points for the season. This depends on size of apples. A large mixing bowl full of the cut apples makes a medium to large roll. Make up pie crust. Roll out as thin as desired. Spread the cut apples over the rolled dough. Sprinkle some white sugar on apples and some bits of butter. Roll as for jelly roll and lift into a well greased pan. If you prefer you can put" the rolled dough in well greased pan before putting ■■ 3 Hour I ! Syrup for apple roll-bring to a boil: 1 cup brown sugar, IVa cups water, Vi tsp. nutmeg,' Vi stick butter, Vi tsp. cinnamon. Pour hot syrup over roll and bake in moderate oven for an hour-until the apples are well done and the crust a golden brown. APPLE-CUSTARD PIE 1 9-inch unbaked piecrust 6 cups thinly sliced, peeled and cored cooking apples sugar 3 tblsp. all purpose flour Vi tsp. salt Vi tsp. cinnamon 2 eggs V* cup half and half or milk dash nutmeg Prepare piecrust with flu ted edge. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In large bowl, toss apple slices with Vi cup sugar, flour, salt and cinna mon until well coated. Ar range apple slices in overlap ping circles in piecrust. In small bowl, with wire whisk or fork, beat eggs with V* cup sugar, half and half and nutmeg; pour over apple slices; cover loosely with foil. Bake 45 minutes; remove foil and bake 30 minutes more or until knife inserted in custard comes out clean. tEo tEbm iFaTrfnell |jj||jf GRADY ELKINS MAUDE ELKINS Joint services were held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Prices Creek Union Church for Maude Blankenship El kins, 78, who died Saturday morning in an Asheville nursing home; and Grady Elkins, 78, who died Sunday afternoon at the home of a son of Rt. 3, Burnsville. Surviving Mr. and Mrs. Elkins are two sons, Howard of Burnsville Route 3 and Tom Elkins of Clover, South Carolina; 22 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Surviving Mrs. Elkins in addition to the above named are three sisters, Mrs. Lucille Bailey of Dilwyn, Va., Mrs. Ray Riddle of Weaverville and Mrs. Madgalene Ransdell of Lenior; one brother, Alvin Blankenship of Pensacola, N.C.; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Francis Elkins of Route 3, Burnsville. Rev. Shelby Beaver and Rev. Charles Austin officiated at the funeral services. Burial was in the Elkins Cemetery. Maude Blankenship El kins was the daughter of the late Crate and Maggie Ray Blankenship. Grady Elkins was the son of the late Murray and Althea Banks Elkins, and a retired farmer. ALVAT. WILSON Mr. Alva T. Wilson, 66, of Moonshine Mountain, Burns ville died Wednesday in an Asheville hospital after a short illness. Rebel football semes during this past season were as follows: Cane River-MarshaU 14-0, CR-Mars Hill 36-0, CR-Laurel 60-0, CR-East Yancey 52-0, CR-MarshaU 28-0, CR-Mars Hill 16-0, CR-East Yancey 50-0. The following offensive players made the number iff touchdowns and extra points shown: Harley Norton, 14 TD and 8 extra points; Jeff Whitson, 10 TDs and 4 extra points; David McFee, 7 TDs and 6 extra points; Eddie Hammonds, 3 IDs and 1 extra point; Wyatt Shade, 2 TDs; Barry McKinney, 1 TD, Chris Tipton, 1 TD and Ricky Sellers 1 TD. The Rebels have industrial chemist, and had been living in Burnsville since early summer. He is survived by the wife Ema Ries Wilson; a daughter, Mrs. John Accorsi of Somers, Conn.; a sister, Dr. Emily Wilson of Kennett Square, Pa. and 3 grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p'm. in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. Rev.
