Mr. and Mrs. Frank H. Hughes of Murphy, N. C. announce the sagagement of their daughter, Electa Gall, to Paul Wil liam Puette Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Puett of Blairs ville, Ga. Miss Hughes is a studu.t at Murphy High School. Mr. Puett is a graduate of Blairsville High School and is employed with Clement Brothers Co. in Chatsworth, Ga. Schuyler has re turned home from Mission Memorial Hospital, Asheville after an operation on his left eye. Phone 837-2044 ^he~Woman 's2?age Silvers Horton Miss Phyllis Silvers became the bride of Elton Hor ton on Saturday, September 9, at 5:30 p.m. In a candlelight ceremony at Macedonia baptist Church In Cherokee County. The Rev. Cecil Pelfrey performed the double ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Sil vers of EUijay, Ga and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Horton of EUijay, Ga., formerly of Cherokee County. The bride wore a two piece length dress of white brocade. She wore a shoulder length veil and carried a white Bible topped with a white or chid. The altar was beautifully decorated with large baskets of gladolis and giant white mums with back ground of greenry. A reception followed the ceremony at the home of the groom's sister and brother in-law-, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Williamson at McCayesville, Ga. For a wedding trip the couple toured several count ies of Western North Carolina. The bride and groom are both 1966 graduates of Gilmer County High School in Ellijay. Both attended Rhinehardt Col lege at Waleska, Ga last year. The bride will be returning there for another year, while the groom is enrolled at the University of Georgia at Athens. Benton Couple Married Here Miss Linda Dills and Jerry B. Rogers, both of Benton, Tenn., were united in mar riage on September IS at Boiling Springs, Rt. 3, Murphy. Both are employed by the Bowater Co. at Cleveland, Tenn. J. W. Mrs. David Burch furnished the music. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Ralph Ledford of Hayesville. The bridegroom Is the son of Rev. & Mrs. Verlon A. Martin, Sr. of Hayesville. Mr. Ledford gave his daughter in marriage. She wore a gown of peau de soie and lace. Miss Owayn Ledford, sister of the bride was maid of honor. She wore a yellow lace street-length dress, and carried yellow carnations. Mrs. Thomas Penland of Marietta, Ga? and Mrs. Sherwin Crews of Bowdon.Ga. sisters of the bride, were bridesmaids. They wore dresses matching the maid of honor. Little Miss June Martin, nieceof the groom was the flower girl. Mr. Thomas Allen Penland was best man. Mr. Lloyd Ledford and Cran dall Ledford, ushered. A reception followed in the church with Mrs. Lloyd Led ford, Mrs. Cline Hicks, and Mrs. Verlon Martin, Jr. as sisting.
