WOMEN Miss Cheney Weds William Hardinp m Mr. William Hardin Mrs. Ruth DeWeese Cheney of Murphy, announces the marriage of her daughter Mary Deborah Cheney to William McCombs Hardin of Murphy on Feb 13, in Birmingham, Ala. Mrs. Hardin is also the daughter of the late Robert Earl Cheney - the granddaughter of Mrs. Roy A. Cheney of Conneaut. Ohio and the late Rov A cneney. Her Maternal Grandparents are the late Senator and Mrs. AG. DeWeese. The bride is a graduate of Murphy High School. She attended East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C. and is a graduate of Spartanburg Technical Educational Center in Spartanburg, S.C. as a certified Medical Secretary. Mr. Hardin is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hardin of Murphy and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Hardin of Waynesville, and Washington, D.C. His maternal grandparents are the late Dr and Mrs. William Sidney McCombs. He is a graduate of Murphy HighSchool and a graduate of Lake City Jr. College and Forest Ranger School in lake City, Fla. Mr. Hardin spent three years in Special Forces, stationed in the Panama Canal Zone. A March wedding is planned. Ivie Funeral Home ROBERT BEDFORD Robert L. I^edford, 88, of Hayesville died Saturday morning in a Franklin hospital after a long illness. He was a native of Clay County and a retired farmer. Surviving are five sons, Ralph of Hayesville, Robert and Ray, both of California, Rubin of Canton, Ohio and Rev. Ronda Bedford of Hayesville; three daughters, Mrs. Rebba Rigsby of Titusville, Fla., Mrs. Rena Matheson of Hayesville and Mrs. Robenia Nerritt of I,a Puente, Calif.; a brother, Graden I^dford of Canton; a sister, Mrs. Mae Hall of Canton, Ohio; 21 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Services were held at 2 p.m Monday in Myers Chapel United Methodist Church. The Rev. Harry Hawk officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Nephews were pallbearers.
