These provisions remain -un changed in the new proposal. legible employees retiring at age 65 would receive monthly to tal retirement income consisting of primary Social Security bene fits, supplemented, under the pro posed amendments, by a payment from the company, the total vary ing with the employee's length of service and average monthly pay during his last ten years of ser vice. It was pointed out that the mini mum retirement income provision of the proposed plan would assure a total retirement income of not less than $100 per month to a re tired employee at age 65 with 25 years of service. If such an em ployee’s average last ten years’ earnings are in excess of $200 per month, however, his retirement income would exceed this mini mum. Should earnings for the last ten years average $250 per month, such a 25-year service em ployee’s monthly total retirement income would be $113.75; if the ten-year average is $300, the total retirement income would be $127. 50 per month. # Employees who retire before be coming eligible for Social Securi ty benefits, either voluntarily or for disability, would also receive increased benefits. Upon reach ing age 65 and becoming eligible for Social Security benefits, they would be automatically shifted to the status of an age pensioner, and would receive an increased to tal retirement income.
