The clinic will be held at Kell tun’s Store at the end of the School Lane. The health department urges that everyone in the PSllocksville community take advantage of this free oppor tunity to see if their blood is pare. It has been pointed out that many deadly blood di seases can be halted if they ^are detected in time. More than 100 Jones Oountians Monday morning attended the meeting held by the Board of County Commissioners and the County School Board to sound out sentiment on the holding of a $130,000 bond issue election to raise funds needed to complete the two consolidated high schools now under construction in the county. Not one of those who attended voiced opposition and nine of those present spoke brief ly, but strongly in favor of the election and subsequent sale of bonds. The Board of Commissioners accepted the voiced opinion of the group that attended the meeting and announced unof ficially that it would call for a bond issue election at the earli est possible moment. However, the commissioners will wait until Monday, March 5th, to pass the formal resolution calling for the election. School Superintendent W. B. Moore presided over the meet ing and. urged everyone present to speak out, either for or against the proposition. The drop in votes each week during this campaign has been small compared with the drop that is to come next. You who are pulling for your favorite contestant should sub scribe this week while your sub scriptions count most votes. We wish to make clear to those who are not familiar with the big “club” coupon offer in effect this week that each $15 worth of sub scriptions from one to five years to the Lenoir County News and Jones Journal sold and turned in to campaign headquarters Saturday afternoon by 5 p. m., will entitle the candidate in the campaign to a “club coupon.” The “club coupon” is worth 132,000 extra votes. These votes are in addition to the regular votes allowed on each subscrip tion. Every subscription sold helps to accumulate the $15 worth. Two ‘club coupons” will be given with $30 worth of sub scriptions, etc. In other words, 132,000 EX TRA votes will be credited to as many $15 clubs as you can sell.
