HAVE A GHILI PARTY! . « i* • '• What’s the first thing you think of when you’re planning a party—the food? Does the idea of preparing “eats” for a crowd scare you? It needn't Here's a suggestion for some really easy "party-fare” that will please everyone. Have a "Chili-Party”! Let convenient canned condensed soups come to your aid . . . chili beef and tomato soups. This recipe for “Mexicalli Chili” is both economical and simple to prepare. You'll notice it only calls for one pound of ground beef. It’s ex tended by the chili beef soup and Cheddar cheese, so it is bound to be protein-rich. Corn chips and a dip are natural starters for this delicious "Mexicalli Chili." Accompany with a crisp green salad of chicory and cucumber slices with your favorite dressing. Don't forget ho: loaves of buttered French bread, too. For dessert serve something sweet and cool like "flan,” a cara mel covered custard or "cocada,” a coconut pudding garni:!:;:! with almonds. Ole! Have a great party. Mexicalli Chili 1 pound ground beef 1 cup chopped onion % cup chopped green pepper 1 large clove garlic, minced 2 tablespoons chili powder 2 cans (11 ounces each) condensed chili beef soup 1 can (10% ounces) condensed tomato sou," lVi soup cans water 1 cup shredded Cheddar cuc-j-e Vi teaspoon salt In skillet, brown beef and cook onion, green pepper, garlic, and chili powder until onion is tender. Add remaining ingredients Cook over Jow heat for 20 minutes; stir now and then. Makes 10 servings. Pour off fat. Add gravy and thyme. Cover; cook over low heat 1 hour. Stir now and then. Add vegetables; cook 1 hour longer or until tender. Stir now and then.
