Jonas County Girts Got Loans from Jane McKimnion Scholarship Funds Christine Eubanks Airman Maness Is Tech School Gtad Airman Second Class Lindsey V. Maness Jr., whose mother is Mrs. Fannie G. Hill of Rt. 2, Richlands, has been graduated at Keesler AFB, Miss., from the training course for Air Force radio operators. Airman Maness, a graduate of Jones Central High School, at tended Methodist College at Fayetteville and North Carolina State University. His father, Lindsey V. Maness, resides on Rt. 2, Trenton. Pfc Donald Cannon On Duty in Vietnam Private First Class Donald E. Cannon, 25, whose parents, Mr. and Mrs. George L. Cannon, live in Maysville, was assigned as a driver April 18 in the 528th Quartermaster Company near Vung Tau, Vietnam. Pvt. Cannon entered the Army in August 1966 and was last stationed at Ft. Jackson, S. C. He is a 1960 graduate of Jones Central High School. Nathan Wiggins At Ft. Dix, N. J. Private Nathan C. Wiggins, 23, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lam B. Wiggins, Maysville, completed a six-week general supply course at Ft.! Dix, N. J., April 21. He was trained in maintaining stock records for the receipt apd issue of supplies and materials. He also learned typing and gen eral administration procedures and storing of various Army sup plies. His wife, linda, lives in Pelli tiers Trailer Park, Jacksonville, I i S1 Ann Mallard of Route 1, Tren ton who is now attending At lantic Christian College and Christine Eubanks, a senior at Jones Central High School, have recently been notified that they have been awarded the Jane S. McKimmon loan fund of $500 for the fall of 1967. This fund is made available by the North Carolina organization of Home Demonstration Clubs. Miss Mallard is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Mal lard. She has shown qualities of leadership in many phases of her education and has had valuable experience in holding office and assisting in church activities, Fu ture Teachers Assocation, 4-H Club, Future Homemakers Asso ciation, Student Council, Cheer leaders, Beta Club, and Math Science Club. Miss Eubanks is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chris R. Eu banks. She has been a member of the Student Council, Future Teachers of America, Future Homemakers Association, and Freshman Class Secretary, 4-H Club Secretary, and English Club Vice-President. She plans to enroll at Campbell College this fall.
