from Air Force navigator train
ing at Mather AFB, Calif.
lieutenant Walker is being
assigned to„Wtestover AFB, Mass.,
for flying, duty with the 99th
Air Refueling Squadron, a unit
of the Strategic Air Command,
America’s nuclear deterrent
force of long range bombers and
intercontinental ballistic mis-'
ales.
The lieutenant, a 1965 grad
uate of Grainfer High School,
received his B. S. degree in 1969
from the University of North
Carolina and was commissioned
there through the Air Force Re
serve Officers Training Corps
program. He is a member of
Phi Beta Kappa.
IBs wife, Judith, is the daugh
ter of C. M. Foreman of 1212
Sutton Drive, Kinston.

quality of a person’s behavior

one extreme is the competent,
efficient man who learns easi
ly and performs well. At the
other extreme is the fumbling
and inept 'man. To give “intelli
gence” greater precision, we
may classify “intelligent behav
ior” under three categories.
First, there is “abstract intelli
gence.” This involves the solu
tion of problems through the me
dium of words, numbers, dia
grams, pictures and the like.
(There is “motor intelligence.”
This involves skill and dexterity
in manual tasks. And there is
“social intelligence.” This is the
ability to get along with people;
tact; self control; even temper,
etc.
