RIDGECREST
. . . ramblings
Business Manager Milliard K.
Weeks was in Atlanta and La
Grange, Ga., Wednesday and
Thursday on business for the as
sembly. He conducted prayer ser
vice at the First Baptist church,
Atlanta, Wednesday evening.
The snow Monday morning was
a shining surprise to Ridgecrest
people. Three inches fell from ten
to one o’clock. Instead of “pretty
snow flakes” it came down in
“snow balls” that splashed when
they landed on the ground. So un
usually large were they that com
ment was heard on their size by
many. To look upwards into the
onslaught of the falling snow was
a delight as the flakes and “balls”
came tumbling down.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Biddix
spent the week end in Thomasville
visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
C. L. Black, and other relatives
and friends.
Alice Turner staged a television
party for Lavinia Hollifield and
Joyce Belcher while they were at
home during spring holidays and
before they returned to Mars Hill
Tuesday.
Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Willard
K. Weeks Friday of last week
were Professor and Mrs. Paul
Minault and daughters, Gail and
Dee Dee, of Pottstown, Pa., who
were on their way to St. Peters
burg, Fla., for a vacation at their
beach cottage in that city. Prof.
Minault, formerly of Paris, teaches
French at Hill school in Potts
town.
The March meeting of the Wom
an’s Missionary Society was held
with Mrs. Hight C Moore last
week of “Moorehaven.” The pres
ident, Mrs. W. M. Pate, presided
over the business session. Mrs.
Charles Jollay, program chairman,
presided over the program, which
was presented by Miss Rowena
Williams. Others taking part were
Mrs. Moore and Mrs. ^ • L.
Hatcher.
Willard K. Weeks spoke at the
Old Fort Baptist church Sunday
night and showed pictures of
