According to statistics from the Murine com pany of Chicago, good readers blink more often than poor ones. It is generally believed that the blinks make it possible to ignore non-essential objects, such as punctuation marks and other gaps in the text. Normal persons seem to blink at about the rate of 26 times a minute. « SELL ITI — CLASSIFIEDSI • We offer deepest sympathy to the family, relatives, and friends of Dock Jones. He was liked by everyone. I don't believe I have heard anyone speak harm of him. Dock was one of our old time teamsters who spent most of his life holding the checklines. He and his brother used to haul lum ber by our house when I was a young fellow, and while his broth er drove the team up the long grade, Dock would come by the field where I was plowing to give me sage advice about my court ships. Minnie was under the weather Sunday morning and couldn’t go to church. The Joe Bruners of East Marion came to see us in the af ternoon. Shirley and Harold Ray David son are visiting Shirley’s sister, Marie, in Kentucky this week-end. Ken couldn’t tell me what Marie’s married name was, or the name of their town; he was too busy telling me about forgetting to turn the stove off while he tended the store, and burning his hotdogs. He said the odor of scorched ca nine still lingered the next day. I remember Marie Knupp before she married as having very lovely blue eyes. The Fred Shooks, Jim McFee, and Kennith Tucker also visited Minnie Sunday afternoon. Our W. M. U. circle will meet with Mrs. Eugene Byrd this Fri day evening. Our first meeting in our new place of worship was very inspir ing. We had a very good attend ance, with a number of visitors. There must have been 75 present. The acoustics seem to be good. Betty Jean gave us both piano and organ music. The sermon was deeply moving. We cordially in vite you to visit us. Emily Wood paid us a visit Fri day evening. She and Mr. Wood are leaving for Florida soon. The Charles Taylors came to see us Sunday night. —Rockefeller Center, New York City, has 10 miles of underground corridors, more than a million keys, and attracts 10 million sightseers yearly—far more than any state or national park. —Modesty has its limitations, but conceit seems to know no bounds.
