On next Sun day Dr. Billy Graham will preach l'or the 11 o’clock service, and Rev. John Anderson Ross MacKenzie for the 8 p.m. service. This will close the Bible conference. The new officers will be installed and a memorial service will he held for those members who died in the last year. All meetings of the Woman's i lub have had good attendance. Many attended the tea given on August 4 and a good offering was given. Mrs. Lacy Little served punch, which was greatly enjoyed during the hot. afternoon. A good crowd heard the speaker. Joseph A. Home of Black Moun tain and Lake Wales, Fla., at the meeting of the Woman’s club on August 11. Mr. Home is an au thority on countries in South Am erica and gave an interesting and informative talk on Venezuela. A very beautiful country to visit, but when it comes to everyday living. North Carolina is the best, Mr. Home said and stated that he and family are glad to be retired in this section of the country and this country. Mrs. Charles Wat kins was hostess for this meeting. The flowers in the auditorium were given in memory of Mrs. Frank H. Wardlaw, a past presi dent. of the Montreat Woman’s club. The singers in Montreat have always been good, but to get up a lovely concert in a short time is an unusual thing. That is what happened on Saturday night as the violinist who was to have given a concert, was unable to come. Mr. and Mrs. Allan Guy, and Dr. and Mrs. Benjamin Dunford with oth er singers gave a treat that was greatly enjoyed by all. Services for Charles T. Land ing. father of Mrs. A. G. Whitak er of Louisiana road extension, were held on Wednesday at Med ford, Ore. Burial was in the fam ily plot in Riverside cemetery, Ashland, Ore. Mr. Landing died Sunday in the home of another daughter in Med ford, Ore. He was in good health until this attack. He would have been 77 in October. Besides Mrs. Whitaker there are four other daughters and two sons. Symp athy is extended to Mrs. Whitaker and family.
