Trim Enka
Coach Ralph Singleton’s
Owen High cagers opened the
! second half of the season in
impressive fashion Tuesday
; night by downing Enka, 55 to
43. The Enka girls eked out
a thrilling 39 to 37 victory
1 over Gene Byrd’s Warlassies.
Both games were close all
the way and had the specta

were sitting throughout.
Owen will play Biltmore
High school here in a twinbill
Enday evening, and will travel
to North Buncombe for a re
turn engagement with the
Hawks on Tuesday, Jan. 12.
After Enka led by one
point, 22-21, at the half, the
Warlassies fought hard but
failed to come up with the
winning combination. High
scorers for Owen were Sher
lin with 14 and White with 13.
The Warhorses had a 26-24
buige at the half and went on
from there to victory. Pacing
