Students are selected to “Who’s Who” on the basis of academic performance, cooperation and achievement in the college’s Work Program, participation in extracurricular activities, citizenship, leadership and overall attitude toward the total College program. Valley Methodist Churches Plan Special Christmas Program Swannanoa and Tabernacle United Methodist churches will celebrate Christmas Communion in the Swannanoa sanctuary Christmas Eve, Friday at 6:30 p.m. , The Christ candle of the advent wreath will be lighted and several members of the youth department will offer Christmas meditations. The Rev. John Emory Jones, minister of the two churches, will conduct the Communion service. The public is invited. Tabernacle church held the annual Christmas dinner Monday, followed by a carol and candle lighting service in the sanctuary. Tabernacle and Swannanoa choirs are taking part in carol singing at the W.N.C. Hospital during the week. A Watch Night event for both churches is planned Dec. 31, in cluding fun, fellowship, worship and Communion. Youth com mittees of the two churches will assist in the planning. Youth will have an ice skating trip on December 28. The Swannanoa live outdoor Nativity scene completed four CHRISTMAS GREETINGS May the season shine with warmth, peace and happiness for you and your family. Steve Slagle was named president of the Swannanoa United Methodist youth in a meeting at the parsonage Sunday afternoon (Dec. 19). Mike Zeigler was named vice-president, David Noland was chosen program chairman, and Buster Slaughter was named Activities chairman. Buster Slaughter, Mike Zeigler and David Noland will assist the pastor, the Rev. John Emory Jonesin planning for the Watch Night program Dec. 31. the group will participate in an ice skating trip on Dec. 28.
