death of William Bryant of Walla
Walla Washington who was killed
j last. Sunday morning at 2 o'clock
when he was riding with a party of
1 friends in the state or Oregon, go
j ing on a fishing trip. Mr Bryant
i was born and reared in this coun
ty. his mother being a Lovelace. Hr
is a cousin of County Commission
er R. L. Weathers.
Bryant who was 82 years of age
was head of the men s wear de
| partment of the Gardner and com
! pany department store and in the
car at the time of the accident were

glass. Gardner ' was driving when
i the ear came to a ninety degree
surve in the road. Not familiar wi-h
j the road and the highway being un
marked, the car struck the approach
. to the bridge and straddled one of
! the steel supports. The men were
i precipitated into the stream of wa
ter 15 feet below. The other two
! men escaped with injuries, but
Bryant was killed outright.
