Hunt returned Monday from a week’s trip to Chicago. Among those going to Charlotte during the past few days to shop were Mr. and Mrs. W. 8. Walker, Misses Lyda Poston, Beatrice Caba niss, Beatrix and Annette Blanton, and Grace Walker. Mr. G. O. Hawkins returned Mon day from a two weeks trip to Flor ida. Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Toms visited Mrs. Toms’ mother, Mrs. Georgia Gold of New House Sunday. Mrs. I£arl Jordon Who has been suffering with a head trouble and receiving treatment In the Shelby hospital was able to be brought to her home Wednesday evening. Friends are glad to know she s getting along nicely. Miss Daisy Crowder Is supplying as teacher for the second grade during Mrs. Jor don's Illness. Miss Poston and the girls of the home economics department are v serving hot lunches at a very rea-i sonable price. They are pleased to* know that Mrs. F. S. Crowder will come Monday morning to give \ demonstration in candy making. The colleges are closing this week for Christmas and the following students from Lattimore are ex pected home during the week-end to spend the holidays: Miss Bur nette Hunt, Meredith; Miss Mary Elizabeth Willis, N. C. C. W.; Miss Cleopatra Latham, A6hev!lle Nor mal; Miss Lois Adams and Mr. Ed ley Martin, Mars Hill; Messrs. Wade Harrill and Julius Wilson of State college. Prof. Lawton Blanton and Prof. W. E. White attended the meeting of high school principals which was held at Ruthsrfordton Wednesday night. Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Morehead, Mrs. M. L. Morehead were guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Morehead Sun day afternoon. Prof. Lawton Blanton and family spent Sunday afternoon with Mr. ind Mrs. W. M. Blanton of the! Sharon community. The remodeling of the interior of the Baptist church is almost com pleted. When finished it will add greatly to the general appearance of the church. Mr. R. R. Hewitt and family spent Sunday with Mrs. Hewitt's mother. Mrs. P. E. Rowe of Newton. Coach A. C.
