S of the second Bap tist church is observing the week of-prayer this week Monday's meeting was held with Mrs. H. E. l.ee on Gardner street; and Tues day's meeting with Mrs. W. C. Whitworth on S Morgan street The service today’ will be at the regular prayer service at the church when the women will have charge of part of the program. The last two meetings of the series will be held on Thursday and-Friday even ings at 7 30. On Thursday evening Mrs J. T. Jones on Shannonhouse street will be hostess and on Fri day evening Mrs. A. The meeting was opened with a song "Stepping m the Light" followed by a chain of sentence prayers. The roll was then called and the minutes read and during the business session a note of thanks was read from Kathleen Shoffner. Attention was also called to the Lottie Moon Christmas offering and Mrs. Wa caster fund. This was followed by a nomination and election of the following new officers: Mrs. Rob ert Doggett, leader, Mrs. Horace Easom, assistant leader; Mias Mont rose Mull, president; Mias Mary Tedder, vice president; Mias Muriel Putnam, secretary; Miss Mae I,at timore, treasurer. Miss White Is Party Honoree Misses Geneva and Nidia Yar brough most delightfully entertain ed a number of their friends at their pretty country home near Waco Thursday evening with a fare well party honoring Miss Nellie White who will move to Sharon, S C. at an early date Games and music were enjoyed throughout the evening Each guest wrote a wish for Miss White which will be mail ed to ber when she reaches her nett home.
