Also at the meeting, the club received state awards for its civic beautification work "promoting the planting of crape myrtles and other trees to beautify Brunswick County." The club's annual social will be held tonight (Thursday) at the home of Tom and Vicki Jones. I^jslie Dianne Causey was crowned Teen Miss, while Ashley Michele Marshall walked away with the Junior Miss title. Miss Causey, the 16-year-old daughter of Bobby and Jane Causey of Supply, sang "Love In Any language" during the talent portion of the pageant. The West Brunswick High School sophomore, who was first runner-up in last year's Teen Miss pageant, is a member of the Junior National Honor Society and has been a cheerleader for the past two years. She is also the reigning Teen Miss Cinderella and was Little Miss Brunswick County in 1979. Miss Marshall, the 12-year-old daughter of Jimmy and Jeanette Marshall of Shallotte, is currently a seventh-grader at Shallotte Middle School. She performed a tap dance to a medley of show tunes including "42nd Street" and "Hooray For Hollywood" for her talent. Co-captain of the cheerleading squad, Miss Marshall also enjoys dancing and swimming. First ninner-up in the Teen Miss pageant was Tanya Renee Hewett, the 16-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frankie Hewett of Shallotte. She sang "God Bless The U.S.A." during the talent competition. Robin Campbell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Campbell of Ocean Isle Beach, was second runner-up. The 13-year-old contestant performed a tap dance to "Hey There's Good Times" as her talent. Tami Smith of Leland, Teen Miss Brunswick County 1987, passed along her crown after singing two Christian songs during the pageant entitled "I Give You Jesus" and "On Holy Ground." First runner-up in the Junior Miss pageant was Nancy Shanea Smith, the 10-year-old daughter of Earl and Paula Smith of Shallotte. She performed a tap dance to "42nd Street." Danette Marie Hilliard, 12, was named second runner-up. The daughter of Steve and Sue Causey of I^ongwood, she sang "Sing Your Praise To The Lord" for her talent. Junior Miss Brunswick County 1987, Kim Davis of Shallotte, also provided special entertainment during the pageant, singing the country and western tune "Break !t To Me Gently" and the contemporary song "Somewhere Out There." Wendy Williams of Iceland, Miss Brunswick County 1988, served as lllisil UKh in utiiimiimies and also provided entertainment throughout the evening for the estimated 300 people in attendance. Miss Williams, who will represent Brunswick County at next month's Miss North Carolina Pageant, sang "Amazing Grace."
