Ash Man Charged With Shooting Into Occupied Mobile Home HY 1ERRY POPE An Ash man was arrested Sunday alter he allegedly fired several shots into a mobile home occupied by three men. Jiv Russell Vereen. 32, of Route I . was charged by Brunswick County Sheriff's Detective Don Stovall w iih discharging a firearm into occupied property. According to Deputy J R. Earp Jr.'s report, the incident happened on Little Prong Road (SR. 1336) around 4: 15 a.m. The resident accused Vereen ol coining to his home where the men apparently got into an argument. Earp reported After the homeowner began clos ing the door. Vereen allegedly opened fire into the home with a .22 caliber rille. No one was injured in the incident, said Stovall. In other reports on file at the sher iff's department: ?Someone fired two shots at a 1 .eland man's car as he was driving on N.C. 133 near Belville. The man had received a threatening phone eal! earlier Saturday, indicating that "his time was marked," reported Deputy Pete Moore When asked what the caller meant by the statement, the response was. She told Sanders that she was going to take out warrants against another woman suspected of stealing the ring, valued at S300. ?A burglar left a note following a break in at a home on Sloan Drive near Leland Sunday, indicanng the suspcct was also the resident's son.
