C, FBIPAY, AlPBlL 4, 1941 1 ' ( IK 9 Sale Of Easter Seals Under Supervision Of Mrs." Lucius Blanchard Mrs. Lucius Blanchard, Jr., County Welfare Supervisor, who will have charge of the Easter Seal Sale toi the aid to Crippled Children, announced- tkis week that the sale of the ficaj will begin just as soon as the seals arrive from State Headquar ters. Mrs. Blanchard is expecting the seals to arrive here by the end of this week. The sale of the Easter Seals is a National drive to raise funds for the aid of crippled children and all the funds raised in this county are di vided equally between the local com mittee and State headquarters. Fifty percent of the local funds remarn here to be used by the local commit tee to aid in the care of children of Perquimans County. The balance of used by State officers to aid in the carrying out of the State program. BRIDGE PARTY Mrs. Bob Spivey delightfully en tertained a number of relatives at bridge on Thursday evening at her home near New Hope, complimentary to her sister-in-law, Mrs. James E. Totten, of Panama Canal Zone, who has been her house-guest for a few days. The house was beautifully de- Gerald Wood. corated with spring flowers in yellow and blue, these colors being further carried out in the tally cards. After several progressions, high score prize for the ladies was awarded Mrs. J. B. Basnight, while N. C, Spivey received high score prize for gentlemen. The honoree was presented a guest prize. The hostess served a delicious salad course. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. N. C. Spivey, Mr. and Mrs. Vivian Math ews, Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Mathews, Mrs. J. B. Basnight, Mrs. J. G. Roberson, Mrs. H.
