The bride wore an afternoon dress of dusty pink, with matching skull cap. She carried an old fashioned nosegay of mixed California wild flowers. Mrs. Mil ler's only attendant was Mrs. Philip Henry Sheridan of Santa Barbara, California. Captain Miller' chose as his best man, Captain Donald R. Bohanan of Louisville, Kentucky. His ushers included Captain Peter Moses and Lieutenants Robert T. Kingsley, John R. Stumm and Carl Schultz. The bride was given in marriage by Lieut Philip H. Sheridan, grandson of the famous Civil War general, i A reception for close friends of j the couple was held at the home of! Lieutenant and Mrs. Sheridan The former Miss Newbold is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hen ry Newbold of Hertford. She was graduated from Miss Leo's School in Richmond, Virginia, and attended Women's College of the University of North Carolina. Captain Miller, the son ol Mr. and Mrs. Azra H. Miller of Claverack, New York, was graduated from the Romford School for boys in Wash ington, Connecticut, and claims Cor nell University as his alma mater. He was affiliated with the Phi Gam Sgt William Feild Awarded Bronze Star 15th AAF In" Italy William S, Feild, 25, 22 Dobb Street, Hertford, N. C, has been awarded the Bronze Star for "meritorious achievement in direct support of combat operations and has been promoted to the grade of technical sergeant at his base m the 15th AAF in Italy. The award was made in recogni tion of more than a year of service as crew chief on one of the ground maintenance crews in the 461st Bomb Group. "I have serviced three bombers since I have been overseas," Feild says. "The smoothest plane I have ever had was mv second one. She flew 69 sorties while I had her. certainly hated to see her go." Prior to coming overseas in March, Feild spent over a year servicing trainer planes at Moody Field, Ga., and Boythville, Ark. He also flew as aerial engineer in a B-24 training squadron at Smyrna, Tenn. He en tered the Army October 19, 1938, af ter attending Perquimans County High Schoof He re-enlisted in the AAF October 8, 1941, and received specialists training in the B-29 school at Keesler Field, Miss. Pitt, Mrs. Ben Thatch, Mrs. C. T. Skinner and Miss Elizabeth Knowles assisting. Mrs. D. F. Reed was in charge of the business.
