Gostton, and Miss Thelma Elliott completed the arrangement when Year Books and Emblem cards marked the place, of W. each at the individual table where a debciouia chicken menu was served; Mrg. Anne A. iNowell, president, opened the meeting when (the Invoca tion was sung in unison. The dub members welcomed .the guests in Bong to the tune of "Happy Birthday" and the guestig respondod t'o the tune of "Clementine". Towe, District Director; Mrs. Dora T. Riddick, District Secretary-Treasurer, and Miss Hulda Wood, District Public Affairs Contact Chairman. iMins.' Viola D. Nachman presented the program when Miss Hulda Wood gave an informative talk on tfhe his tory of th'e National and State Federa tions of BPW Clubs; Mrs. PickeKit A. Sumner gave some interesting facts about the first president krf the N. C. Federatiosi when it was organized in 1919, Miss. Julia Alexander of Char kxtfte, the first woman attorney' to plead a case before the N. C. Supreme Court and is" a close friend of Mrs. Sumner; Mrs. Alice M. Towe read the hicltory of the Perquimans Club and Mrs. Lois A. Stoktes gave the "Rea sons for. joining a BPW club". The humorous part of ithe program was a solo by Mass Ruth Tucker tand Miss Kate Blanchard at the pi wo; read ings bv Mrs. Margaret W. Bagley and Miss Thelma Ellidtt, and , original poems by Mrs. Dora T. Riddick. The vrogram rlosed with the Club Collect repeated in unfewn. J). M. Jackson won the guest prize, which was a birthday cake, complete with five candles. The meeting closed with the' group singing a BPW sofig to the tune of "Auld Lang Syne".
