Hurdle who passed away April 26, 1965. 7 Our hearts are filled with; fond memories of the years we shared with vou. When we feel sad rttese memories seem to nelp us through. You had so much love to give to all who were around you. Whatever your duty you were always ready to do. Once again we'd like to see your friendly smiling face. May we someday meet you in that better place. Wife and Children :x.:ox::':v;iv.vAv.v.v.v.v.v.v.VA! WKWWiWAW.V.WAWAW.Wi'AW,' Is it true? Someone said "the people of Perquimans County do not care whether their people have decent housing or not." Is this really true? Do you care? When you see people living in dilapidated homes, in shacks, etc. Do we feel any respon sibility? There are many things that citizens can do to improve the housing conditions of Perquimans County. Housing codes, building inspectors, zoning laws, etc. One important thing that you can do is to become aware of the housing situation in the county. 41 of all houses are not sound. 22 are deteriorating. 19 are dilapidated. 33 have no piped water. 48 have no inside toilet. Loans are available at a low rate of interest for developers to build houses that can then be sold or rented. Do you have land that could be developed. Homes can be built by individuals at a very low rate of interest. What about public housing? Do. we need more? We can get it! Let's prove the person wrong who. said "You people in Perquimans aren't interested. We are interested and want adequate housing for our families. If you wish to discuss this matter further, please contact Ila Grey White, Home Economics Extension Agent, Perquimans County.
