I. i h l V 1 I. 4 1J 1 i DOLLAR Splendid Performance To The Editor As president of the Perquimans County Arts Council I feel that I must take this opportunity to express ap preciation for the splendid drama performed in our city this past weekend. To Clifford Towe who wrote, directed and even acted in the play, we are indeed grateful. Beautiful performances were also turned in by Tony Jordan, Susan Rogerson, Frank Roberts, An drell Henry, Millie Ward, Nancy Hagen and Ben Woolverton. The people on the committees and the patrons for this production, while too numerous to list here, are certainly to be praised for their excellent workmanship and unselfish attitudes. Even though this may have been the first time around for some of the people involved, I certainly hope that this will not be the last. The one disappointment that I experienced while working with this play was that only a small portion of our local people saw the results of all this hard work. Out of two performances the total audience was a little less than two hundred. It is such a shame that enter tainment of this nature is so poorly attended. We are not discouraged, however. As an Arts Council it is our job to promote and encourage programs of this nature. I hope that this will become at least an annual event maybe more. I also know that we can count on the people of Perquimans County to come through the next time they always do. Danny W.
