TVe children and Youth Choris of Providence Baptist Church will present a musical pageant entitled "The Stranger In The Straw" at Chappell Hill Baptist Church, Sunday night at 7:30 p.m. This is a unique version of the birth of Jesus Christ as seen through the eyes of the animals in the stable that night long ago. This pageant was presented earlier at Providence Baptist Church in Shawboro and was such a success that this group has agreed to present it once again during this Christmas season The pageant is under the direction of Mrs. Elaine Roberts and Mr. Bill Dawson. Mrs. Winslow Riddick ofBelvidere is engaged to Craven Mr. and Mrs. Earl Craven of Burlington, announce the upcoming marriage of their daughter, Garline, to Marvin Glenn Riddick, son of Mr. Archie Riddick of Belvidere. The wedding will take place on Sunday, January 17 at 3 p.m. at Up River Friends Meeting. A reception will follow the ceremony Friends and relatives of the couple are invited to attend. Harris-Winslow wed Miss Lillian Dunne Harris and Thomas Brenton Winlsow were married December 5, 1982 at 3 p.m. in Bethel Baptist Church by the Rev. Stanley E. Nixon. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E. Harris of Route 1, Hertford. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold B. Winslow, Jr. of Route 2, Hertford. Wedding music was provided by Karen Sundstrom. pianist, Teresa Ward, cousin of the groom, aid Paul Copeland, both were soloists. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Mr. Thomas E. Harris, she whore an ivory gown of dicroo organza with Victorian styling featuring leg-o-mutton sleeves, a Queen Anne neckline, beaded bodice and an attached chapel train. Her Chapel length headpiece was arranged from a Camelot cap. Miss Peggy Harris, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Thorn issa Winslow, sister of the groom of Hertford and Mrs. Joan Rudd of Edenton. Mr. Winslow served as his son's best man. Ushers wei?i Mr. Bruce Winslow. uncle of the groom, Mr. Tommy Harris, brother of the bride, both of Hertford, Mrs. Jim Harris, brother of the bride, of Windsor, Va., and Mr. Jeffrey Chappell of Belvidere. Miss Jennifer Phillips, of Hertford, was the flower girl and Denny Perry, cousin of the bride, of Hampton. V'a., was the ring bearer. A reception was held in the Fellowship Hall of the church. Arter a wedding trip to Virginia, the couple will make their home in Hertford. Pasquotank plans for variety show in January i Plans are underway for a variety show sponsored by the Pasquotank Arts Council. The show will feature area dan cers, singers, actors, and a blue grass group. Soloists who will appear in the program include Marjalene Thomas. Morris-Siles to be wed Mr. and Mrs. Thomas N. Morris. Sr. of Edenton announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter. Loretta Morris, to Joel A. Sites, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lyons Jr. of Elitabethtown. The bride elect is a 1ST* graduate of Chowan High School and is presently employed with the Bank of North Carolina in Hertford. The prospective bridegroom is a 1979 graduate of Shaw University in Raleigh and is presently employed with the N.C. State Highway Patrol. The wedding is planned for January 22 at 1 o'clock in the af Siles A Morris ternoon at Warren Grove Baptist Church in Edenton. Friends and relatives of the couple are invited to attend. Nancy Ferebee, Frances Gaither, Bill Thorn, Roy Askew, Holly Wright, Clif Harris, Judy Venters, Alice Sue Rousseau. Donna Seymour, and Terry Owens. Among the drama groups will be Northeastern High School Drama Club. Currituck High School Drama Club, and the Albemarle Players. The instrumental part of the performance will feature Blackwell Memorial Baptist Handbell Choir The production is slated for January 21st at 8 p.m. in the Shep Auditorium. Proceeds from the event will go toward the building fund of the school.
